Storm God
A pulpy, action adventure fantasy novella set in the mythical prehistoric era of the Middle World of E'a.
The Dragon of Chaos, Tarneb, has awakened from his eons long slumber to sow destruction and despair across the face of the Middle World. Rather than fight, the Elders of the Sky Gods have fled, thinking themselves safe within their mighty fortress city of Herazeem. But Tarneb’s power grows and the ruin of the world draws nigh. Now it is left to the storm god Vorn to find a way to defeat Tarneb before all is lost and the ruin of the world is complete.
“… thus was the Dragon of Order, Nira, slain. From her bones the Sky Gods wrought their kingdom, and the peoples of the Middle World rejoiced. At the height of their power, the Sky Gods swore a sacred oath to safeguard and guide all mortal kind, ushering in a time of peace and plenty.
But in the depths, Tarneb, Dragon of Chaos and ancient enemy of the Sky Gods, stirred, swearing to avenge his fallen sister. He sent forth great tides of demons and serpents, and all the Middle World became a battlefield. For an age the Sky Gods fought against Tarneb’s hordes, throwing them back wherever they arose. Yet even in those days of strife their kingdom flourished. New gods were sired, young and fierce and strong, and the mortal peoples of the world multiplied.
Then as one age turned to the next, Tarneb himself arose, dark and terrible. For a time the Sky Gods stood firm but Tarneb’s might proved too great. The Sky Gods were cast back, fleeing before his wrath to hide behind great walls of spell-worked stone. In their absence, Tarneb’s hordes laid waste to the Lowlands. All seemed lost, and those of mortal kin thought themselves abandoned. Yet even in that darkest hour, four among the Sky Gods remained who still remembered their ancient oaths…”

Amazing introduction! Very mythological and sets you right into the mood and atmosphere of the what I am about to venture into. I feel foolish taking a long time to read this. Thank you for sharing Maximilian.
I'll have to show this to my son, he's working on a high fantasy saga set in a completely new world that he's creating! Looking forward to reading this. 👍🏻
