Oh wow. This was a desperate move by Vorn and it's great to see the enemy heads up. One can feel that inner voice rooting for the protagonist despite the slim chances of winning. Great first chapter.
This truly felt like a climax - I love love love openings that are this exciting!
I know that Vorn is also a scary warrier 'godling' (love that word), but just through his actions, you can see that he is kind and loyal, not wanting to abandon us puny, little humans.
Thank you so much for reading. I'm really glad you enjoyed it. I'm glad you got that from Vorn, I tried to make him kind of stoic and serious almost to a fault, but deep down he's just trying to do the right thing.
Oh that's cool. I'd never heard of Teshub before but this story is inspired by those of other mythological storm gods, mostly Marduk and Thor with a smattering of others. I can definitely see the similarities with Teshub though.
Already gave some praise in a restack, but just wanted to pop in here to say I love what you’re doing here! You’ve done such a great job of grounding the mythic scale of this story in human characteristics. Can’t wait to keep reading!
Highly visual. I especially like the image of the sky chariot with spinng, rune etched wheels, or the the sky god splashing with his lightning axe amid mud and serpents. Epic and mythic in tone, well done.

I am already invested!

Reminds me of the Hurrian sky god Teshub, who fought an epic battle of his own…Great stuff!

Thank for your kind words, I truly appreciate it. I hope you enjoy the rest of the story.

Thank you. I really appreciate that.
I love the pace and the Sky Gods personalities are already evident. I really like the detail to action ratio, if that's even a thing.
I was in the mood to read something like this. Thank you for sharing it.
Thank you. It's very action adventure, epic fantasy. I was worried it might even be a little bit too much. I'm glad you enjoyed it.
